As an individual or group, you can organise and lead a project with other volunteers, or join an existing project.

Listed below are some great ideas or Project Types for you to consider.

Project Types

Blood Bank Donation

Individuals and/or groups organise to donate blood

Collectathon

Collecting new and good-as-new items for a charity: e.g. toys, mobile phones, food for distribution, baby and infant clothes ….

Cookathon

Make and distribute food for those in need.

Fun Day

Organise a picnic/party/entertainment for those in need young or old, refugees….

Green Projects

Working to improve the environment through local initiatives, including clean ups e.g. public spaces, schools, cemeteries….

  

Honour our Armed Forces

Supporting Australian servicemen serving overseas e.g. write greeting cards

Hosting

Hosting a lunch or tea for a particular local group needing care e.g. senior citizens, children with disabilities, refugees, neighbours….

Make it Grow

Starting a food growing initiative and donating the proceeds or planting trees.

Make and Share

e.g. Paint pot plants , plant a plant, patchwork blankets and distribute, decorate & fill pillowcases with goods for homeless children  eg residential facilities

Seasonal Cheer

Collecting or making gifts for disadvantaged or hospitalized children and putting them in a decorated box to be given as a present over the festive season.

Social Inclusion

Activity with underprivileged members of the community such as refugees, socially isolated older or younger people.

Social Inclusion Week aims to help Australians feel valued and to give people the opportunity to participate fully in society.  It’s about connecting with local communities, work mates, family and friends to build relationships and networks, addressing isolation and exclusion by supporting people who may be unable help themselves.
