Testimonals

Mazel tov on a wonderful Mitzvah Day on Sunday! The planning and organization that you did for the day was clearly enormous, and I am sure that the food, clothing and other items will be greatly appreciated by those in need. The day also was a time for our community to come together for the good of others and this is a great feature of the day as well. The weather held out as well, so clearly we had a greater power on our side!Judy, thanks for having the foresight to bring Mitzvah Day down under and for making it a reality. It must be incredibly gratifying to know that your vision is now a reality.I hope that this is now well and truly part of the Jewish community’s calendar, and that we go from strength to strength in the years to come. On behalf of the entire Kehilat Nitzan community, yisher coacha!
Sincerely, Zvi

Just reading the Jewish news and remembering how wonderful to be part of the Sunday Mitzvah day.Congratulations to you and to everyone involved for a wonderfully well run day and a great opportunity to work together with so many others towards a better world.
Thank you so much, Ruth

Having just seen the JNTV video on youtube (here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eeKcvIqradM – I used to work at the AJN on JNTV, so it gave me a particular buzz), I’m just so floored at the level of Melbourne’s participation in Mitzvah Day. It sort of makes me want to come back to Australia!!
Thanks, Benji Holzman

You did a wonderful job with everything! yasher koach!
Rabbi Adam Stein (Kehilat Nitzan Synagogue)

A great day for which you worked so hard. You deserve to sleep long and peaceful for many years to come. Some of those residents who attended know how to say thank you and really meant it – thanks to you.
Regards, Schlepper

On behalf of Betar I’d just like to thank you for all your efforts this year for Mitzvah Day, the event put on by Jewish Aid and the ZYC today was fantastic. We’re looking forward to being a part of Mitzvah Day in the future.

Just saw the photo and article in the Melbourne Weekly on your work on Mitzvah day, sounds great.

It was indeed a beautiful day. I am so happy that I managed to persuade some Bnei Brith members to be part of it. It gave us great pleasure to see the look on the faces of the kids when they got their toys.
Best wishes, Sonia

Last Sunday I had the pleasure of taking part in Mitzvah Day, when some 500 Jews of all ages took to the streets to work alongside one another and engage in volunteer work to help out society. I joined a group of enthusiastic young people from the Australasian Union of Jewish Students who cleaned up the area around Caulfield railway station. They did a great job. I then joined a large group in South Melbourne, where we served food to residents of public housing. My Mitzvah Day concluded back at Caulfield Park, where I had a great time meeting with members of Melbourne’s strong Sudanese community in an event organised by Jewish Aid Australia. Thanks to Judy Feiglin, Debra Korman and the team at Mitzvah Day, who did such an enjoyable and rewarding job. I look forward to seeing what I can do to assist this group to make this a much bigger and better day for Victoria in the future and potentially a national symbolic day of action.
