:Challah BakerMake and ShareYesMake Bake Give Challah
Making challah is a lot of fun and of course delicious to eat. It's also very special to make a challah to give to someone else to enjoy. Challah can be made any day of the week and Mitzvah Day is a great day to do it! My idea is to make a challah to give away, or make one to keep and one to give away, or you could make more to give away if you would like. You can then choose who to give your challah to. This could be a neighbour, or someone who lives alone, someone who is unwell or a family member who would enjoy this surprise from you.

Please enquire for the recipe and instructions.

B'nai B'rith VictoriaOtherYesMenorah Awards
The B'nai B'rith Menorah Awards are presented annually to members of the Jewish Community who have performed voluntary work of benefit to the community, usually over a long period. This year for the first time they will be presented online via Zoom on Mitzvah Day, from 7.30pm.
This year we have five awardees – Raizel Fogel, Claude Fromm, Vicky Grosser, Geoff Sandler and Marianne Schwarz. Presentation of their awards will be followed by a talk by Sally Capp, the 104th Lord Mayor of Melbourne and an inspiring speaker and role model.
Tickets are free but bookings are essential. Book through https://events.humanitix.com/menorah-awards.

BBVicEntertainmentYesMitzvah Day Concert
BBVic Showcase: fostering Jewish musical youth has moved to an online platform in 2020. We want to engage a group of our young musicians, 8-25 years of age, to play and participate in a live-streamed event from our channel: https://bbvic.net. The young musicians will gain valuable performance experience. Traditionally our young musicians play live at community functions and for the Elders. We will edit a concert from both pre-recorded and live performances.
From 1.30pm-3.30pm we will live-stream the event. Audience members can attend on a pay per view basis of $10 through trybooking. After the concert, the film will be edited and released for replay at community functions and for the Elders.

Friends and FamilyCollectathonYesNappy Collective
2020 has certainly been a challenging year but even more reason to do a mitzvah. Nappy stress is the experience of families not having enough nappies to change their children as often as they need to. A family experiencing nappy stress is likely to cut back on other essentials like food in order to access nappies. So clean out the cupboards and find those left over nappies or hit the shops and buy some new ones…..
Let’s see how many nappies we can collectively donate to mums and bubs in need. Come along, bring your donations and help us sort the nappies for those in need.

Working BeeYesBags of Love
MITZVAH DAY is a very special day when people all over the world unite to do good deeds and help others. This year we are excited to collaborate with Impact for Women, supporting women and children fleeing Domestic Violence.

We are making lolly bags as part of their Christmas ‘Bags of Love’ to hand out to the children.

We would love your help to make these lolly bags and will be setting up a COVID safe environment to do so. We will have packing stations at a park in the Glen Eira area where we will have 30 minute shifts where each family gets to make as many lolly bags as they can.

If you wish, you may bring some new craft supplies to go into the ‘Bags of Love’. WIZO Kids will supply pre-wrapped lollies.

Children must be accompanied with an adult.
