Collecting for Glenallen Special School We collected much needed items for the playgrounds of Glenallen School. The school caters for students with physical disabilities, severe health impairments while providing learning programs for students with a broad range of intellectual abilities. Current students have complex needs and often multiple disabilities. There are 3 Large outdoor spaces where children play and enjoy. They needed more outdoor toys, balls, dolls, prams, sand toys, garden games, gardening equipment like forks and spades, pretend play toys such as plastic food.

Canterbury Hebrew Congregation

The Christchurch Aunties (an organisation which helps women and their children who have suffered violence and other types of abuse) was very grateful for our help and had a number of different jobs for us to do. These included sorting and packing bed linen, threading cord to make drawstring bags out of pillow cases. making up parcels of kitchen utensils, emptying and sorting about 50 donated new school bags some of which contained chrome books. There was a great buzz all around as everyone got to work at the various tasks. The children were great helpers and worked for much of the two hours we were there. Towards the end some made either Chanukah or Christmas cards. Everyone had a great day and some asked if we could come again. Heather was delighted and we have organised to come soon after 10th December to help make up special parcels to be given out to people in need for Christmas.
