Our Kitchen Table community (in their own home), made a hand scrub, hot chocolate sticks and a card activity. These will all be given to the elderly living in isolation, to the aged care staff, and to disadvantaged seniors.

Our residents at Emmy Monash Aged Care joined with volunteers and members of Darchei Shalom (via zoom) to make apple cakes from a family recipe. This was a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with the community and our volunteers for such a worthy cause.

B'nai B'rith Unit Gesher-Rabin & JECO+JCN

B'nai B'rith Unit Gesher-Rabin, the B'nai B'rith Environment Group and The Jewish Ecological Coalition (JECO) collected items for recycling/repurposing/reuse by others. As well as helping to reduce landfill, we educated the community about alternatives to sending stuff to landfill.

Chabad Malvern's Giving Kitchen is responding to the Covid crisis that is affecting our community with a Charity C00k-off, making nourishing meals to be distributed to families in crisis.

Leo Baeck Centre for Progressive Judaism

We asked people to wear green and pick up litter in a neighbourhood. We logged the number of pieces collected to see how much we collectively beautified our surroundings. We also collect non-perishable items to be delivered to a food pantry.

We baked up dozens of biscuits for the clients of Catherine House, a shelter for homeless women in Adelaide.

The King David School

The King David Senior School collected food for Mazon Australia and wrote cards to the elderly in our community with wishes and love. Students facilitated bonding activities to strengthen the school community after not having much time together.

WIZO Matan Group with CCARE

Wizo Matan busily working away at C Care putting together Buddy boxes as part of C care’s Buddy Initiative. The group were donating their time in honour of Liora’s bat mitzvah making boxes for both volunteers and recipients to plant seeds into pots over the phone and watch their friendships grow. A wonderful initiative. Kol Hakavod!
