Impact is a completely volunteer driven and lead charity making a difference to Victorian women and children fleeing extreme violence at home. impact would like to give refuges caring for these women and children with parve 'Kosher Kits' to enable Jewish families to adhere to kashrut principles whilst in hiding. What we need include (new) sets of cooking equipment (pots and pans), crockery, glassware, cutlery, cooking utensils (knives, wooden spoons, spatulas, etc etc), tea towels, chopping boards and anything else food-cookery related to form these kits. If you are in a position to donate (new) items to include in these Kosher Kits, please do so. If you are in a position to encourage other people to do so, please do so. Please contact Kathy via ENQUIRE to arrange a drop off. If a woman and her family have lost everything as they flee domestic violence, let's at least ensure that they can follow their kashrut dietary principles if that is what they want to do.Kathy

Southern Metropolitan Cemeteries TrustSouthern Metropolitan Cemeteries TrustThe Southern Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust would like to openly invite the Jewish community to attend a working bee at Brighton General Cemetery to attend and clean the Jewish areas. The Brighton Cemetery has over 120 years of history and is the final resting place for some of Melbourne's most iconic and influential leaders, such as Sir John Monash.

This is a great opportunity to improve the look and cleanliness of loved ones who have passed. By giving back to those who could never return the favour is the most humble of acts and is the highest sign of respect and gratitude.

* Equipment will be supplied.
* Cleaning will only apply to general areas and not to specific graves as consent must be given by the holder of right.
