Shepparton Synagogue - UnveilingSocial InclusionYesFrom 1913, 102 years ago, the Shepparton Jewish community of Victoria was an active, vibrant mostly-farming community, centred around a Synagogue, then on the corner of Doyles Road and Poplar Avenue.
Even though most of the Jewish settlers (but not everyone!) of this community - and the Shule itself - has been disbanded since 1966 - some of the original families have organised to place a permanent monument and plaque at the site of this once-sacred land. With the blessing of Shepparton "Goulbourn Valley" Council, His Worship the Mayor and others will perform the Unveiling on Mitzvah Day, 15th November 2015 - at 2pm.
You are invited to join in this very special Community event from 2.00-2.20pm at the site... and perform a once-in-a-lifetime Mitzvah of honouring those who contributed so much to the foundation of Victoria's Jewish community.
