Igniting ChangeOtherYesFood relief
Igniting Change is a deliberately tiny charity, passionate about sparking big, positive change for people doing it tough in our communities. We create connections between those who wish to help and those in need of support. Through our partnered charities and grass-root connections we reach families and individuals that may otherwise be forgotten. We have been providing food relief for communities severely impacted by COVID-19, as always led by the organisations dealing directly with them. These include Collingwood Neighbourhood House, looking after the residents of the Richmond and Collinwood housing towers, Frankston Community support and Africause, working with refugee and asylum seeker families in the northern and western suburbs who have been severely impacted by COVID. The main need at the moment is for food vouchers. The vouchers allow people the dignity to purchase what they need.
To send vouchers or for any other correspondence please email jackie@ignitingchange.org.au

North Shore Temple EmanuelOtherYesHonouring front line health workers
Front line health workers are still working extra hard in COVID and ICU wards in Sydney. Our Mitzvah Day project involves collecting food to drop off at three major hospitals. Health workers work long shifts and often don't get time to go and buy food for themselves.
The children at our Hebrew school will be making cards to thank staff in these wards. The cards will be delivered with the food.

Our Share the Food program supports people within the community who are struggling to support themselves as a result of the impacts of COVID or due to chronic hardship.
To make it easy we have prepared this list of food items we know are always needed.

S-ProjectCollectathonYesS-Project Collectathon for Very Special Kids
The S-Project was founded in 2017 in memory of Saul Lurie, to raise funds for art and creative therapies, for children or adolescents who are undergoing Cancer treatments, or in Palliative Care. Very Special Kids Hospice and Family Support Services in Malvern cares for children with life-threatening conditions by providing a children’s hospice and professional family support services.

This year, Mitzvah Day falls on the the same day as Very Special Kids' end of year family day.

We are collecting items that will go into gift hampers for each family, and as a result, each item needs to be equitable. We would be very grateful for donations of a pack of 12 textas. These will need to be delivered before Wed 17th November, in order to be delivered and packed before Sunday 21 November.

Thanks in advance for helping to enrich the lives of those affected by life threatening illnesses, and for helping to create community.
